การประกวดดีไซเนอร์ "ชุดราตรี" หน้าใหม่ เพื่อเร่งประชาสัมพันธ์ให้ประเทศไทยกลายเป็นเมืองแห่งแฟชั่น ยังคงเป็นกระแสที่มาแรง เพราะไม่ว่าหน่วยงานเอกชนหรือภาครัฐ ต่างหันมาให้ความสำคัญมากขึ้น
ล่าสุดมหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้ร่วมจัดการประกวดดีไซเนอร์หน้าใหม่ประจำภาคเหนือ ในงานกล้วยไม้โลกนานาชาติครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งเป็นการรวมดีไซเนอร์มือสมัครเล่นที่ผ่านเข้ารอบมาจากการประกวด 'แฟชั่นผ้าใยธรรมชาติ' จำนวน 12 คน เมื่อต้นเดือนธันวาคมที่ผ่านมา ได้เตรียมพร้อมแจ้งเกิดกันอีกครั้ง ในงาน 'กล้วยไม้โลกนานาชาติ ครั้งที่ 2' กับผลงานการตัดเย็บ ชุดราตรี และชุดลำลองใน Concept 'Real Fabric to Real Love'
ดีไซเนอร์หน้าใหม่ ต่างเร่งตัดเย็บเสื้อผ้าให้เสร็จทันเวลา เพื่อให้สวยงามตามแบบสเกตช์ที่ร่างไว้ เมื่อถึงเวลาต้องขึ้นเวที ทุกคนต่างพร้อมที่จะแสดงผลงานการตัดเย็บให้คณะกรรมการผู้ทรงเกียรติชมอย่างมืออาชีพ ถ้าไม่บอกก็คงไม่รู้แน่ๆ ว่างานนี้มีแต่มือสมัครเล่น
แม้กระทั่งคณะกรรมการผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านแฟชั่นเสื้อผ้า ต่างก็ต้องยอมรับและพูดเป็นเสียงเดียวกันว่า "เด็กรุ่นใหม่พัฒนาไปเร็วและก้าวไกลอย่างเหลือเชื่อ ทั้งความคิดและฝีมือ ไม่แน่อาจจะเห็นเด็กไทย สร้างชื่อเสียงเป็นดีไซเนอร์ระดับโลกก็ได้"
จิรพงษ์ ลำเทียน ผู้ชนะเลิศการประกวด ชุดราตรีแฟชั่นผ้าใยธรรมชาติ กล่าวว่า กว่าจะมาถึงวันนี้ ต้องผ่านอะไรมากมาย ถึงแม้ว่าจะไม่ได้เรียนด้านดีไซน์โดยตรง แต่ด้วยความชอบและใจรัก จึงได้นำสิ่งที่เรียนคือวิชาปรัชญามาปรับใช้กับการออกแบบตัดเย็บในครั้งนี้
สำหรับคอนเซปต์ของการออกแบบเสื้อผ้าครั้งนี้คือ Crystal Flower ทั้งชุดราตรีและชุดลำลอง จะเลือกใช้ผ้าฝ้ายในการตัดเย็บ โดยจะเน้นโทนสีธรรมชาติของผ้าฝ้ายและสีฟ้าตามสีของ Crystal เป็นหลัก พร้อมกับการออกแบบให้สามารถใส่ได้จริง และเข้ากับยุคปัจจุบันได้
"ดังนั้นงานดีไซน์ของผมจึงเป็นการนำเอาจินตนาการมาผสมผสานกับความเป็นจริง เหมือนกับคำพูดที่ว่า 'มันไม่ใช่แค่แนวคิด แต่มันเป็นแรงบันดาลใจ' " จิรพงษ์กล่าวเสริม
